Overview

This programme is delivered under the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme and is supported by FIT Ltd. VTOS provides general education and training opportunities for unemployed adults, by enabling them to retain their Social Welfare entitlements while in fulltime study. The above one-year programme facilitates suitable graduates of our QQI Level 5 Computer Systems and Networks course to progress to further industry qualifications in the area of PC maintenance and repair and networking.

Entry Requirements

•    Completion of Part 1 award, or equivalent, and
•    Relevant prior experience, and
•    Personal interview

Principal Area of Study

Network Infrastructure(QQI level 6), Multimedia Technology(QQI level 6), Mathematics for Information Technology, Mobile Technologies, Work Experience, Networking Essentials and Web Authoring.

Career Opportunities/Progression

Successful graduates of the Networking and Computing programme seek employment in web design and maintenance, computer support, IT administration, and as PC technicians. Some graduates secure employment in the networking sector, whilst others still progress to Higher Education, or training at third level.
