Disability Support Services

It is the policy of the college to provide an inclusive educational service to those who seek it and as resources permit. The building is disability friendly with two disabled lifts appropriate toilet facilities at all levels of the building. The college is also part of the City of Dublin ETB disability network. As such the college avails of the services of a disability officer who can assist students with accessing appropriate learning supports as may be required. These can be physical supports such as assistive technology, transport or personal supports such as care attendants, notetakers or scribes. The Disability Officer will also assist with the integration of disabled students into the life of the college or to provide counselling and support for those with a learning disability.

National Learning Network Disability Support Service 

The Disability Support Service (DSS) is a joint educational service provided by City of Dublin ETB and the National Learning Network. The service is currently available in City of Dublin ETB Colleges of Further Education. 

The DSS supports students who are having either a temporary or ongoing difficulty during their college education. The aim of the service is to support students and to work in partnership with college staff and external agencies. All students who register with the service are offered one-to-one needs assessments. The relevant supports are put in place based on the recommendations of these needs assessments. A Support Officer will be based in the college on Thursdays. 

An assistant psychologist (education focused) will provide person-centred Wellness, Organisational, Social, and Academic support. Students can access a range of expertise that will enable a truly supportive and holistic educational experience.
