The Colaiste Ide Culinary students are operating a range of themed restaurants throughout the course of the programme. The themes include Hawaiian Luau, Mexican, Asian and a range of other appealing themes from around the world. The Hawaiian Luau includes a buffet, games, prizes and "mocktails".
The activity involves every aspect involved in the operation of a restaurant, including marketing the restaurant, research, documentation and sourcing of suitable ingredients and food stuff, preparation, cooking, presentation and final delivery of food in a customer-oriented restaurant environment.
This activity proves invaluable to students in translating the application of the experience into the real world.
