The Colaiste Ide Culinary students operate a range of themed restaurants throughout the course of their study. Themes include a diverse range of concepts from Disney, Carnival and a Food Festival theme to Hawaiian Luau, Mexican, Asian and a range of other appealing themes from around the world. The themes often involve the provision of games, prizes, "mocktails" and a restaurant / buffet experience.
The student experience involves every aspect involved in the operation of a restaurant, including marketing the restaurant, research, documentation, sourcing of suitable ingredients and food stuff, preparation, cooking, presentation and final delivery of food in a customer-oriented restaurant environment.
This activity proves invaluable to students in translating the application of the experience into the real world.
