It offers qualifications to enable students to contribute to the varied job opportunities that are available worldwide within the industry.
Participants will study a combination of modules in the Sports and Recreation award that will prepare the learner to succeed in the Fitness, Wellbeing or Dance Industry.
This programme includes modules Dance, Exercise & Fitness, Pilates, Massage Therapy, Anatomy & Physiology, Team Working, Nutrition, Sports & Recreation Studies, Gym Instruction ITEC, Workshops, Audition Coaching, Optional Extra Irish Dancing Grades.
Entry Requirements
» Leaving Certificate: Five passes at Ordinary Level, or
» Leaving Certificate Applied, or
» QQI Level 4 award, or
» Others, including mature students: Assessed individually, and
» Personal interview, and
» Medically certified evidence of fitness to participate in exercise

Career Opportunities and Progression
Students of Irish Dance Exercise and Fitness can progress onto the BA in Performing Arts (LM026) at the Irish Academy of Music and Dance University Limerick.
Students can progress from this award to Institutes of Technology and Universities, including Dundalk IT, Carlow IT, UCC, Tralee IT, through the Higher Education Links Scheme on obtaining a full Award. See the full list of CAO courses available for progression here.
