Since it's foundation 20 years ago, the Open Learning Centre has facilitated students from all walks of life including: lone parents, house-parents, the unemployed, students with disability, the elderly and early school-leavers; essentially people who are outside of mainstream education.

In attendance: Jean Fitzgerald, principal of Colaiste Ide; David Treacy, Education Officer, CDETB; Fergus O'Rourke, Director, Open learning Centre.

David Treacy made the presentation to Eugene Finn on behalf of the Open Learning Centre and CDETB.

"Education for us is about innovation and tailoring the programme to the needs of the individual while keeping in mind the practical needs of the workforce in a changing Ireland. We look forward to the next twenty years serving our community."

Fergus O'Rourke, Director, Open Learning Centre, Colaiste Ide.
