Pre-apprenticeship-Accounting-Technician

Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI)

Pathways to Apprenticeship Programme

PLC Business Studies (5M2102)

Colaiste Ide in partnership with Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) have responded to the need for how people can prepare themselves for entry to an Accounting Technicians Apprenticeship, and a future career in accountancy.

We have created this innovative Pre Apprenticeship Pathways programme, which will be taught on site in Colaiste Ide, or if necessitated can be fully taught online until completion.

Work experience will be provided, by Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) with a registered  apprenticeship employer. This placement will take place in line with COVID 19 Specific National Protocol for Employers and Workers.

Programme Structure:

The programme will be modular in its delivery and will consist of three terms:

Term One      14 September  2020       18 December 2020

Term Two:     06 January  2021            26  March  2021

Term Three:  12 April  2021-                 02 July  2021

 Modules - Term1:

The modules for the first term have been chosen to ensure that learners can acquire and develop practical IT skills, which will form the basis from which they will study modules in Term 2.

It is important for learners to be aware, that all who come on to this programme with limited IT skills, will be provided with adequate tuition, which will act as a scaffold in supporting all modules.

Work Experience

CV preparation, skills audits, rights and responsibilities of employees, health & safety in the workplace, equality trends, socio economic issues and trends are areas of study that will be embedded in the teaching of the  Work Experience module throughout the entire programme. Practical work experience in the work place will take place in Term 3.

Modules - Term 2:

The programme has been devised in a modular way, such that the first three modules will be completed and assessed in 2020.

The modules taught in Term 2, will be completed and assessed by June 2020.

Work Experience will take place in the work place in Term 3.

Following successful completion of this programme successful learners may progress to one of the Accounting Technicians Apprenticeship programmes in Colaiste Ide or another college within CDETB.
